My whole main floor is hardwoods, which I love, but they lack warmth. This is where rugs come in for me. They create a soft place to land, warmth on a cold day, etc….. You get my drift.
I bought these rag rugs at IKEA over the weekend. I swear I could fall into that store and never come out! It was a short trip, and that makes me sad😭. Saying I live far away from stores like this is an understatement. Rumor is though, there will be one in Las Vegas soon!!! This makes me happy! I spend a lot of time there so I think I could fall into it a little more. So I redesigned my breezeway but I have been struggling with a good rug for the area. It’s a narrow long hallway.
I can’t do anything the easy way. Just go find a runner? Ha! Yeah right! How bout I find some small ones and sew them together! Bingo! I love the colors in these rugs. Bonus is they were pretty dang cheap…7 bucks a piece cheap. I can handle that!
So I unpicked the edges of the rugs…. Ignore the lovely fat looking thumb on the right. Bleah! After I unpicked them, I simply sewed them together! I sewed all three, and now I’m wondering if I only need two! Oh, first world problems right?
And here’s my runner! For a total of about 21 dollars. What do you think?
It has tons of different colors. I believe the sign at the store said the used recycled sheets to make them. I think they add a pop of color in a mostly white(swoon) room. Now to decide the best way to keep it put. I’ve got some ideas. I’ll let you know when I decide which works best!
For now, I’ll just obsess over my rugs, and maybe another day I’ll do a full post on all rugs! I do love them so.
