After a long, very long week, I am excited to reveal my new website! I am incredibly pleased with the change and I hope you are too! A
few weeks ago I stumbled upon an ebook,
I decided to bite the bullet and invest in it. Boy, was it the best thing I could have done! I have learned so much about blogging, networking, creating relationships, and on my website in general. After reading Abby’s book, I decided a change was needed. I began by signing up with a web hosting company. I chose to go with Blue Host. They offer a low monthly fee and tons of amazing services.
SO, once I had set up my account with Blue Hos,t[eafl id=879 name=”Blue Host” text=”Blue Host”]o pick a new site to run my website with. I picked WordPress.org. I didn’t know much about this site, but Abby had recomended them so I bit the bullet. It is free website building software.
The next thing I needed to do was pick a theme. Now, I could have used the free ones on wordpress.org, but I wanted something more custom. I found this with Restored316 Designs.
It is a Genesis Child Theme. Now this all makes no sense probably right? Ya, it did to me too! I spent much time researching and learning about it all. Maybe once I understand it better, I will post a more in depth post.
So, once I had all these in place, I spent the next week, tirelessly working, building, and making my new website work! I have learned so much, but I still have so much more to learn. I promise you if you are looking to start a website or blog, this is the way to go. I do regret not starting out this way. Since I was with a previous company, moving my old blog over was a bit of a pain but I was successful in transferring all my old blog posts and pictures with a little work. I was able to migrate all my post over with this website. I found that moving my content form Weebly to WordPress.org was just about impossible, or at least a big pain in the butt! The website I found had great detailed instructions and I was quickly on my way to building my website!
Now, my website had been moved, updated, and whats next? I cannot wait to dive in and start providing some fun and exciting posts! Fall is coming so keep an eye out for some fun new fall decor projects, as well as new DIY projects, room makeovers, styling ideas, and more! If you are a blogger, and are interested in collaborating with me, please see my Contact Me page! I would love to collaborate!
Last night I was out for a run. I needed a little break from websites, being a mom, and just life in general. I had come across this quote and felt like it described exactly where I am at. I took this picture about 1/4 mile from my home, in fact that is my home in the distance.
Believe you can and you’re almost there.
