1/2cubebutter at room temperatureYou can use salted or unsalted butter. I have used both.
8ozsoftened cream cheese
1 tspvanilla extract
3-4cupspowdered sugaralso known as confectioners sugar
1tbspmilk
Instructions
In a large bowl using a hand mixer, or using a stand mixer, add the butter and cream cheese to the bowl. Mix this until it is creamy and fluffy.
Add 2 cups powdered sugar, vanilla and milk and continue to mix
Add 1-2 more cups of sugar and continue to whip up. Once at this point you can add more if you want it more sweet. Add as much as you need to reach the desired consistency you want. If you want it runnier add less, or add more milk. If oyu want it more firm, cut out the milk and add more powdered sugar.
Scrape down the sides of the bowl to make sure you get all the ingredients incorporated completely. Mix for another coupke of minutes to get it light and fluffy.
Store in an airtight container or ice your favorite dessert. I use this frosting for cinnamon rolls, carrot cakes, banana cake, and so many more!
