Sauteed Green Beans with Bacon and Parmesan

These spicy sauteed green beans with bacon and parmesan is the perfect side dish on busy weeknights or for a holiday party!

Ingredients

  • 2 14 oz cans of french style green beans You can also use fresh green beans trimmed and washed. About 3-4 cups of beans will work.
  • 2-3 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup finely diced white onion
  • 4 slices Bacon cooked and finely chopped You can also use about 1/4 cup bacon bits
  • 1/2 cup Grated parmesan cheese
  • crushed red pepper flakes season depending on how spicy you like it

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, add the butter and sautee the garlic and onions on medium heat.
  • After about 5 minutes add the canned green beans and crushed red pepper flakes and sautee until they are heated through.
  • Add the bacon bits, parmesan cheese and stir to combine. Serve immediately.
  • If you choose to use fresh green beans. you can either blanch them prior to using or add them to the sautee pan and cover with a lid to steam them for about 5-10 minutes (depending on the doneness you desire)
