Farmhouse Christmas Bedroom | Home Tour Part 2

Hi all!  I am back today with part 2 of my farmhouse Christmas home tour, and today we are talking all about how to create a farmhouse Christmas bedroom.

Yesterday I shared part 1 of my Farmhouse Christmas home tour.  You really should check that out as well.

I am so lucky to joining another great group of bloggers today for another home tour blog hop.  I tell you, there are some really talented bloggers our there and I am so grateful to be collaborating with them.

Before last year, I never decorated my bedroom for Christmas.  One day I had a DOH moment, and realized how stupid I was for not decorating it sooner!  Sleeping in a room with a glowing Christmas tree is practically dreamy.

The thing is, it doesn’t take much to create a farmhouse Christmas bedroom, or any kind of Christmas bedroom.  With a few simple and inexpensive elements you can create the perfect Christmas bedroom of your dreams.

Of course I like to keep mine simple.

New sheets, a wreath, some fun new throw pillows, and  a Christmas tree.  And of course, we cannot forget the twinkle lights.  Talk about instant Christmas.

I really love this set of plaid sheets.  Can you believe I got them at Walmart?  They are so soft!

By starting with a clean white canvas, the simple additions to my room really stand out.  I added some nice throw pillows with some red accents as the only color I wanted to add to the space.  It was either red, or no color at all at this point.  I want to keep the space simple and serene.

I tore some ticking stripe fabric into strips to create this garland for the Christmas tree.  Simple.  You bet.

Even a mason jar full of classic peppermint candy canes exudes Christmas, and that was literally no work at all.

  1. Okay Sara, you may convince me to decorate my bedroom next year. I love those plaid sheets! Textiles and lights are definitely my MO too, but other than candles in the windows, that’s all I’ve done in the BR. Yours looks Dreamy. Wishing you the Happiest of the holiday season.

  2. Sara! I love the soft holiday color palette and if you hadn’t told us….I’d have never known you bought those sheets at a store I can find close to me! I have been pondering putting a tree in our bedroom this year but I wasn’t sure I would have time. But after reading how dreamy it is, I am going to make the effort. The ticking on your tree is a gorgeous touch and I am loving your pillows too!

  3. It’s Kristy from Starfish Cottage- Wonderful job on all your holiday decor! Everything looks so festive and beautiful- I especially love all the soft touches of red in your bedroom. Its been so fun blog hopping with you again this week- Merry Christmas from sunny Florida!

  4. Sara, I love your pops of soft red in the bedroom. I agree totally that the bedroom shouldn’t be left out at the holidays. For years we’ve had lighted garland on our armoire and last year I added a tree. After seeing your bedroom, next year I’m definitely going to add some Christmas pillows. Thanks for the inspiration and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

  5. I’ve had those same sheets for years and never thought to use them with my white bedding–or for Christmas. I’ll be using your ideas this year!

  6. Like you, for years, I never even thought of decorating our bedroom for the holidays but since I did, we have really enjoyed it. The soft low of lights and a cozy colour scheme can be so relaxing during the busy season. I really like how you’ve created such a pretty and calming look for your bedroom.

  7. I love your warm, beautiful farmhouse style. The bedding, tree, and soft neutral background are so elegant and peaceful, not to mention gorgeous. When we renovated, I painted everything white and off-white, and I couldn’t be happier. I agree with you about a white backdrop. It provides some sort of glue (or magic?). I am so happy to blog hop with you this week. You have inspired me to decorate a bedroom for Christmas 2017!

  8. Hello Sara,. It’s Janet from Rosemary & Thyme. I have enjoyed the holiday home tour of your home. You have done a wonderful job decorating it all. The tones are soft and subtle. Very warm and welcoming. I particularly love your bedding. Very creative idea for your headboard and the tree in your bedroom is lovely. Its been fun blog hopping with you again this week.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday season.

  9. Oh my, you put me to shame! Next year I will have to add a little more to my bedroom for Christmas! The lights must be fun to have glowing at night, and you are right, your sheets and bedding look so cozy for Winter! I love that little antique bed at the foot of your bed and that sliding barn door!! Wow! Thanks for opening your home and sharing for the blog hop! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  10. Sara, I love how you have decorated your bedroom for Christmas…perfect touches down to the candy canes! I have enjoyed blog hopping with you and wishing you a wonder-filled Christmas season!

  11. Your bedroom is so cozy and serene, dressed for the season! Love the ticking on the tree! And the candy canes by the bed are a great touch! ~Rhonda
