Hey there friends! It’s been a busy baking week here on Twelve On Main. I have been in the mood for baking, especially my sourdough recipes! I got thinking the other day that I have been collecting quite a few sourdough recipes here on the blog and I thought it would be a good idea to collect them all up in one place!
When I began learning all about sourdough and sourdough starters, it was my goal to create some recipes of my own that we as a family could enjoy. Also, I wanted to make sure they were not super strong in flavor when it came to sourdough. Some sourdoughs are just a bit too strong for me, and that is why I have made it my goal to create my own.
If you are new to sourdough, make sure to check out my post all about sourdough, and how too start a sourdough starter of your own! It has tons of information and helpful tips as well as a day by day list of how to make your very own sourdough starter!
The first thing I learned to make when I started my sourdough journey was sourdough pancakes. These sourdough pancakes are literally the ultimate pancake, I promise you. The texture, structure and flavor of these pancakes is amazing! I cannot get enough of them!
The next sourdough recipe is another one of my favorite breakfasts! These sourdough crepes! Well, actually there are two sourdough crepe recipes in this post!
I shared two that we like to use, depending on the amount of sourdough starter I have. These are a hit, even with my son who is not a fan of crepes!
Okay, now this next one could be by far my favorite, but I just cant be for sure! I love me a good cinnamon roll, and these sourdough cinnamon rolls are totally legit. These were formulated from my original cinnamon rolls, and my gosh, I cannot believe the difference just adding sourdough starter makes! You definitely need to try these! They literally melt in your mouth and have a buttery soft texture. I just cant explain it.
Okay well, my next favorite must be my dutch oven sourdough bread! This bread takes a bit of time to make, but the rewards are so very worth it. It has the most amazing structure, and it makes such good grilled cheese sandwiches and toast too! You have to try this. I promise you that you will love it!
And next, I have my sourdough sandwich bread, which is so easy to make, takes hardly any time at all, and makes amazing cinnamon swirl bread as well! This makes amazing grilled cheese sandwiches and its overall an amazing bread!
We cannot talk about sourdough without talking about my sourdough English muffins! I loooove these English muffins. Its another one of my sourdough recipes that I cannot get enough of. Lets face it, I could eat all the bread, all the time and never get tired of it. They even have those classic nooks and crannies!
And last, but definitely not least, these easy flakey sourdough biscuits. These were made every Sunday for a long time during quarantine. We needed to treat ourselves as often as possible to bring a bit of joy to life!
And thats all of them…well so far! Do not be surprised if a couple more show up here sometime soon. I am constantly working on new recipes and trying to create something that we love.
Sourdough is such a great benefit to your diet, and why not enjoy it in so many different ways! You can even tell people that your cinnamon rolls are legit healthy! Hahah. Well, parts of them are!
Make sure to save this for later and share it with others! Lets get the skill of sourdough back in the kitchen~
