Cozy Handmade Holiday Kitchen Decor

This holiday season all I want is to feel cozy, warm and safe. I think my decor reflects that this year. The feeling of comfort and the glowing lights from the trees and candles have given my home an other worldy feel. Its time for some home tours and today I am sharing my cozy handmade holiday kitchen decor . I am also excited to be part of Jennifer Rizzo ‘s Holiday Housewalk! If you are stopping by from Charleston Crafted, welcome!

Its time for you to get a sneak peek at what I have been doing the past week. We recently had to remodel our kitchen sink, and my husband and I worked feverishly for 4 days to tear out and replace our sink with an amazing new country farmhouse sink with a separate furniture style base.

I honestly can’t believe we got it all done before Thanksgiving. Now I get to enjoy it throughout the holiday season. And to be honest, its the most gorgeous sink I have laid my eyes on!

I used to think I had to edit my kitchen down to just the very basics and add carefully curated decor. But, my lifestyle just doesn’t support that. If you have been around my website, you may notice I do a lot of baking, a lot of sourdough and so many other things.

It keeps my kitchen busy, warm and smelling like home all week long. It also keeps it looking a bit lived in. And to be honest, I wanted to show that part of my life, instead of hiding it behind a camera.

Of course, I cleaned it, because…well I am not an animal. But, I wanted it to feel like you could come in and jump right in. Enjoy your time here.

Lets start my drooling over my new kitchen sink. I just cant describe how much I love it. My Christmas decor this year is handmade holiday. We spent some time making dried apple garland, bead garland, and more salt dough ornaments. I wanted my home to have an organic and homey feel.

With the update of the kitchen sink, I created a little space in the corner of my kitchen which I call sourdough central. I keep a cute lamp that creates some extra light, my sourdough start, some supplies and my favorite candles. Its a nice spot to be able to put everything I need daily. This is also the place that we store our farm fresh eggs. Everything within reach.

My open shelves never disappoint. I love being able to decorate them through the seasons. Simply adding certain colors using mugs, wreaths, and even a cute framed piece of vintage art. Its easy to add simple Christmas decor without having it take over my life.

This wreath was one that I created a couple of years ago, which you can see here. I love this wreath and this year I felt it needed a spot up high where everyone can see.

Whats a holiday kitchen without a loaf of sourdough bread, and not just plain sourdough bread, but cranberry sourdough. This is my sons favorite bread and I love that he loves it.

We also used apples from our very own apple tree as decor. It is dual purpose. While it looks pretty, the kids can eat them throughout the month. I prefer using items that actually get used. I think even the most simple items can create design impact in a home.
