Deer Head Decor- Things I Am Loving Lately
Hey guys, I am back with another group of things I am loving lately. Deer heads! Say wha?? You know it. Now, I am a lover of animals, but I digress, we are a hunting family. I myself have yet to hunt. At all. I am still playing that card over in my brain. While real deer mounts might creep out some of you, or maybe even anger you, this is not what this post is about. There has been a huge increase in faux, artistic three-dimensional sculptures that have come about that are pretty beautiful in their own right. So, if you might not be brave enough to go for the real thing, or you know you just never will, I have compiled a handful of my favorite faux deer heads that are certain to add some whimsy, farmhouse style and a definite talking piece.
I love the idea of hanging ornaments on the antlers like they are here. How fun is that?

was found on Amazon, and I have been wanting it for so long!  Mmmm, its no fun to have to buy groceries, right?
This little fellow full of greenery resides at Target.com. This piece has a more sculptural form, less realistic, but that is what I love about it. I can see this hanging over a fireplace(preferably mine) dotted with Christmas greenery, a few white pitchers, and some wooden Christmas decor items. Come on guys, give him a home. If you don’t want to take him home, he has other friends there.
Here’s another lovely man from Amazon. I love the contrast of the antlers and the head. This would look great mixed into a gallery wall.
Now I thought I would throw in a little fun for the kiddos. I know my little boys would love to have this hanging on their wall.
So, there is another great aspect to deer heads. Their antlers. Or sheds.  These are really popular right now as accent pieces in the home. I, myself have some. Ours were found by my hubby and son out hiking. If you aren’t lucky enough to be able to go out and find them, you can get a replica at Target. How great is that! They are having some great deals right now. Ugh, I need more money. 🙂

There is a huge move in design lately, bringing the outdoors in. There is a natural, earthy element to these simple designs. Now, imagine if you purchased a plaid blanket, maybe like one of the ones I posted here from a previous blog post and then you added one of these lovely art pieces. Oh my swoon! You’ve got the makings of a pretty fantastic start to a cozy, warm, seasonal home. I feel like this time of year our traditions and memories exude from us. We crave those warm and endearing memories. For me, it is sitting by the fire, enjoying my family.  Or playing in the leaves as they blow around my backyard. Nothing can create those feelings quite like family. Quite like memories. There is nothing wrong with wanting to fill you home with things that might remind you of this.
