The Best Safe and Natural Cleaning Products for Your Home
I am in full organizing mode the New Year. I have been going cabinet by cabinet cleaning out the spaces and making sure I get rid of anything I don’t use or don’t need. My goal this year is to keep a better home. A cleaner home. A healthy home. Over the past couple years I have been trying to rid our house of the strong, chemically laden cleaners that we used to use. I want to talk about the natural cleaning products I have decided to use.
After my last baby, I was feeling really off. I felt as if my body was angry with me. I tried to do do all the things physically to make myself feel better. And one day, I was reading an article about how some cleaning supplies can really mess up your physical well being(to put it simply).
I decided it was time to start cleaning a little more naturally and try to rid my home from those chemicals. It was definitely a trial and error finding products that cleaned well but were also safe for my family to use and be around.
Here are some of my favorite cleaners and how I organized my cleaning closet to be the most functional it can be:
I experimented with salt to clean toilets. Baking soda and vinegar too, which actually was really good, but not the most convenient. Finding a window cleaner that was safe but that actually cleaned the windows and mirrors well. That was a hard task.

The Grove Collaborative also has some really great natural cleaning products of their own. I love their concentrated cleaners. You can get a 3 pack of concentrated cleaners: window cleaner, tub and tile cleaner, and an all purpose cleaner.
You pour one of these tubes into a spray bottle and then fill with water. They are economical, and I feel like there is a lot less waste since I reuse my glass spray bottles.
You can get glass spray bottles with Grove as well, but I have found them on Amazon at great prices too.
One thing I also like to do is to order the Mrs Meyer’s hand soap refill and reuse the soap bottles. It’s one more way to reduce waste. I also like using glass soap bottles that I can refill. They look really nice sitting on the counter as well.
Now, I will be the first to tell you, I am not the best at being the best at being environmentally friendly, or zero waste. But I try, each and every day to make a little bit of a difference. So, if you are thinking, she could be wasting so much less if she did A or B….I agree. But its all about baby steps and figuring out how to exist and feel good about what we are doing and what we are using in our home.
I want to feel confident about what I use in my home, and what my kids are exposed to. Its so very important to me. So, I am just a mom doing her best to keep her family safe and learn as I go.
