The New U by Moen Smart Faucet | All You Need To Know

The day has arrived that I get to gush all about my newest accessory in my home. My new U by Moen Smart Faucet is the one thing I never knew I needed! This is true, I told my best friend this just the other day! When I tell you that having this faucet has transformed the way we do things in the kitchen I am not lying. Today I want to share how we installed it and the features we love about it.

First, let me just say that I only endorse those things I truly love and believe in, and this faucet is one I truly love!

You may be thinking, I have never heard of the U by Moen Smart Faucet, or any smart faucet for what its worth. I tell you, I was right there with you. I had a traditional faucet in my kitchen for many years, and really never had any issue with it. So, when I got the chance to try out one of these new smart faucets by Moen I was thrilled to say the least.

So, what is a smart faucet? Well, it is a faucet that has smart controls such as a smart tv or smart lighting. You can control it usually with voice or motion. First lets talk about the features of this new U by Moen Smart Faucet:

• It has voice control when using Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa-

When you use Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa you can give your faucet many different instructions by using the voice commands including telling it to “wash your hands”, “fill 1 cup of water”, and even “heat water to 98 degrees”. Yes you can tell it to heat to a specific temperature or precise measurements. We have tried many of these options and they are so cool. I will say it takes a bit to kind of train yourself how to say and what to say to get it done. But, once you are familiar with it, its a breeze.

The U by Moen Smart Faucet is the only voice-activated kitchen faucet on the market to offer voice-and hands-free activation regardless of the faucet’s manual handle position which is pretty great.

• Motion activated-

There is a motion sensor on the front of the faucet above the sprayer. I have found this to be a very convenient position for it. I love this feature. I make sourdough bread almost daily, and my hands are often covered in sticky dough, which always ends up on the faucet and it is a beast to get it all off. With the motion sensor, I don’t have to touch the faucet at all! I can’t believe how much cleaner everything is just by using this simple wave sensor.

• Sleek stylish designs make them look amazing in the space

When I tell you that they look amazing in the kitchen I am not lying. There are so many stylish options ranging from the modern to the traditional. I chose the Weymouth style in brushed gold. Its a gorgeous faucet, and the fact that it makes things easier and more convenient in my kitchen makes it all that more appealing. You can see more of the styles they offer here.

• The Moen App keeps everything in line:

The Moen interactive app is easy to navigate and very user friendly. It will help you connect to your faucet and give you all the information you need to use all the features of this faucet. You can create custom presets through the app, monitor your water usage and more. Custom presets can be a specific temperature you want to use, or a specific amount of water you need. You can also select a flow rate making this all really customizable to your needs.

• The manual adjustment works no matter what command you give the faucet:

It has a physical handle in addition to the motion activation and voice activation. I like this feature because no matter what you are doing you can still turn the faucet on and off as well as adjust the water flow and the desired temperature you want. The handle is on the side of the faucet like it would be with any traditional faucets. The spray nozzle has buttons which change it from a stream to a spray and an extra button which adds extra assistance giving you a more powerful rinse. The water pressure rises giving you a more powerful spray.

The pull-down designs of the faucet spray head is something I have not ever had and I really like this feature. It makes cleaning out the sink so much easier and when I am done doing dishes, the sleek design gives me less to wipe down. My previous faucet had a separate sprayer in addition to the three holes for the faucet. It was a challenge keeping them all clean and free of hard water.

The U by Moen Smart Faucet was super easy to install. It comes with detailed instructions and it takes just a couple minutes. The faucet runs on batteries which means you do not need an electrician to install it. With the quick connect hoses, connecting the water hoses is super easy.

My husband and I were able to install this in about 15 minutes, and i was videoing the process so there was plenty of stopping in there as well.

How this faucet makes our life easier in the kitchen:

I love so many features about this faucet, but most of all, I love the ease of use, and the contactless use of the faucet. I love that I do not need to touch it with my grubby hands when I am in the middle of baking or mixing my sourdough breads. Being able to complete tasks with ease is something I truly value.

I can ask my faucet to dispense a specific measurement when I am baking or cooking, ask it to wash my hands, and with one simple hand gesture, I can turn it off and on whenever I feel the need.

I can get the exact amount of water I need for any given recipe I am using. With precise temperature control, I can get the right temperature for water I may need for breads and even baby bottles!

You can control the flow of water as well as the temperature of water, just like any other faucet, but with this faucet you can do it manually or by using the voice commands. Its so cool, I seriously love my U by Moen Smart Faucet. The hands free control is something I did not ever think about, and now that I have it, I don’t think I will ever go back to a regular faucet.
