How to Make a Tall Outdoor Side Table

Have you wanted to add some style to your front door but lack space? Check out how I made outdoor side tables for my front door out of wood scraps!  DIYs don't have to be complicated to be stylish!

What you need

– 2 by 2 Wood Pieces – 1 by 10 Wood Pieces – Drill and Driver – Screws – 1 by 4 Wood Board – Orbital Sander – Weathered Wood Stain

This piece is the most important; it will hold the tabletop and legs. I sandwiched the ends, putting the 17 inch pieces on the inside, and screwed them together.

Build Side Piece

We made our legs 34 inches long since I wanted a tall and skinny table. We then added the cross pieces to the legs for stability.

Add the Legs

I decided to create a 1 inch overhang. Once the tops were on, we gave it a good sanding, then stained it with my favorite weathered wood stain that I made myself!

Add the Tabletop

I am so in love with my simple outdoor side table set. The way they look with the rest of my front porch décor is seamless. I used wood scraps, so it cost me exactly nothing to build!  I love it when that happens!
